Google Web Accelerator designed specifically to speed up your internet access, especially using your broadband connection (ribbon width) such as Cable and DSL. To use your connection, such as Dial-up (or Telkomnet Instant Speedy) and wave or satellite, Google Web Accelerator can speed up access.
To use Google Web Accelerator you must meet certain criteria, among other Operating Systems you need Windows XP or Windows 2000 and your browser must be Internet Explorer 5.5 + or Mozilla Firefox 1.0 +. If for other browsers also can, but you need to configure the proxy settings of your browser by adding the HTTP 127.0.0.1:9100. After you install Google Web Accelerator will display a small icon at the top of your browser and tray icon in the bottom corner of the computer screen. Fasterfox is an add on that works with the connection speed to perform the optimization on the network and browser cache. Function of the cache is to store data from the website that we visit, so that when we open a website re-loading process will be faster because the data has been stored in the cache.
Some optimization can be done by fasterfox is: HTTP pipelining, memory caching, disk caching, DNS caching, caching FastBack.
